Dog boarding questions
Detailed answers to the boarding questions Rockland County families ask us most often.
Will my dog be alone overnight?
No. Dogs sleep in our home with us, not in a separate facility. There's always someone in the house overnight.
How do you handle dogs that get along well together vs. dogs that need separation?
During the meet and greet we learn how your dog does with other dogs. Some dogs are happy in the mix all day; others prefer their own quiet space. We plan around what works for each dog.
What vaccinations are required for boarding?
Rabies, DHPP (distemper/parvo), and Bordetella (kennel cough) are required. Canine influenza is recommended. Records should be up to date at the time of the stay.
What if my dog needs the vet during a stay?
We'll contact you and your designated emergency contact immediately and take your dog to your vet or the closest emergency vet, depending on the situation. We have established relationships with local Rockland County vets.
Can you board puppies?
Puppies can board once they've completed their vaccination series. We meet each puppy individually to determine fit.
Will my dog interact with other boarding dogs?
If your dog enjoys other dogs and they're a compatible match, yes. If your dog prefers human-only company or quiet time, that's fine too. We don't force interaction.
What does a typical day look like during a boarding stay?
Morning bathroom break and breakfast on your schedule, mid-morning play or rest depending on the dog, lunch and quiet time, afternoon outdoor time, evening dinner, evening wind-down, and bedtime. Throughout the day, dogs are with us โ not stored away.
Do you take aggressive dogs?
No. We're a home environment with multiple dogs, so safety has to come first. Dogs that are reactive or aggressive toward other dogs or people aren't a fit for our setting.
How do I book a stay?
Call (845) 402-6005, email [email protected], or use our contact form. New dogs always start with a meet and greet.
