Before the stay
- Do the meet and greet well before you actually need boarding. Don't wait until the week of your trip.
- Stick to your dog's normal routine in the days before. Don't change food, schedule, or exercise right before drop-off.
- Pre-portion food. Bring meals in labeled bags or containers โ it saves time and avoids confusion.
- Write down medications clearly. Name, dose, time, route, and what to watch for.
- Update your vet contact and emergency contact. Make sure we have current numbers.
- Bring something that smells like home. A bed, blanket, or stuffed toy helps anxious dogs settle.
At drop-off
- Keep it short and confident โ long emotional goodbyes can make dogs more anxious.
- Hand off matter-of-factly, like dropping the dog at a friend's house.
- Confirm pickup time and how you'd like updates during the stay.
During the stay
- Trust the process. Most dogs settle within hours of arrival.
- Don't text constantly โ we'll reach out if there's anything to share.
- If you'd like check-ins, tell us what kind: a daily photo, an end-of-day note, or only news if there's news.
After pickup
- Some dogs are extra tired the day after boarding โ normal!
- Watch for any signs of stomach upset; let us know if anything seems off.
- Resume normal routine right away.
